I have had a special reverence for objects since I was a child. I always had a special drawer dedicated to my collection of "things" that would later grow exponentially with the adult purchase of a house with a basement.
My assemblage work uses found and salvaged objects as a form of resistance to our culture's obsession with planned obsolescence and the constant new. I like to bring attention to the aesthetic details of an object that often go unnoticed in its functional, working life. By combining disparate parts, a more interesting story can be told.
